Who is ready for some IMPROV?!
Mary McCusker will be back at our LA studio to host an improv workshop that will focus on the
Long Form Improv technique. Mary is a tenured professor, teaching improv at UCLA and LMU!
Improvisation is a valuable skill for both comedic and dramatic work. Most sitcom actors have come from or worked with an improv group for many years. Film directors will often have actors improvise their entire scene, whether in rehearsals or while cameras are rolling. Improv teaches you to think on your feet and be spontaneous in working with your fellow actors.
Long Form improv is an extension of improv where the focus is on creating characters. The emphasis is not about being funny but creating situations to explore truthful characters and story. We will focus on exercises that explore the Long Form technique.
