Congrats! You’ve signed with an agent. Now, it’s important to make sure you maintain a professional, mutually beneficial relationship with them to keep everyone happy. Remember, this is a working relationship between professionals. Steer clear of these three off-limit behaviors, and you’re off to a great start in your relationship.
1. DON’T pursue a relationship that isn't strictly professional. If it wouldn’t fly in a traditional workplace, you shouldn’t try it with your talent agent, either.
2. DON’T bombard them every day with your questions about the industry. Utilize your other resources when you can! (*Wink, Studio 24, wink*)
3. DON’T delay in responding to auditions, emails, or any other form of communication from your agent.
As long as you maintain an appropriate relationship with your agent, ask your necessary questions via email (remember - spelling and grammar are important!), and always respond in a timely manner, your acting career will reap the benefits of agent representation.
